So this week was a little bit crazy, as you probably know, I am now doing Temple Square training (at the MTC still). I leave for the Field on Wednesday and I am a little nervous, but the girls that I am going with have become my very good friends. There is Sister D from France, Sister M from the Philippines, Sister N from Mexico, Sister K from Japan, Sister B from Mongolia and a few others. It is a little bit hard to understand each other but it comes easy when we teach lessons because the Spirit does the communicating for us. I have grown to love these sisters so much, we are all so unique and have different perspectives, but I think that is my favorite part!
Elder D from my District never ended up leaving to Australia like he was supposed to because he ended up having visa problems. He has a twin brother, also going to Australia, and they had made two visas for his twin and none for him. It was really a blessing for Sister L, Sister S and I that he stayed because we were very sad when our district left. I really think our district got closer than most, we became a family. Luckily for elder D, the visa problem is now figured out and he is leaving today at 4:00 p.m. for Australia, and so I truly believe that he was sent back because we were lonely.
I have had a scary incident happen this week...Today in the mail room, an Elder passed out while we were there and they had to go get medical help because he was not responding. I don't know what happened beyond that, but I am praying that he will be alright.
On the bright side, I got to see temple Square yesterday! I love it there. I had forgotten how beautiful it is! I went inside the Joseph Smith Memorial building and I was shown through the tunnels and got to see the Tabernacle Choirs dressing rooms! It was an amazing experience. I also am learning about answering the mormon.org emails and phone calls and I have been able to help teach a few people that way! In the visitor Center training many of the girls sing all of the opening songs in their native language so sometimes there will be about five languages being sung in our little group alone. I have also found that I have a lot in common with these girls. Lots of them listen to K-pop and sometimes they will burst out into songs from EXO, hahaha. I have found that the ones who teach the best are not necessarily the ones who can speak English the best. Yesterday I practiced teaching Sister B with Sister D. It helped me learn that some of the most powerful messages are the simple ones and that when we listen to the Spirit, even if it is subtle, we will be able to get the message across that we need to. Class had been great today. I was studying the Love of Christ and even though I have studied this subject a lot, I think I learn more every time. My favorite scripture today is Doctrine and Covenants 45:3-5
I love you all and pray for you!
Sincerely,
Sister Lybbert xxxxxxxoxox
p.s. I don't know when my next P-day will be because I am going to Temple Square next week. Oh, and I saw Sister S [from Cardston] (Kaylee's cousin!)
